Haven in Tokyo vol.1
Jul 27 2015
Tokyo is a megacity. Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Akihabara... hopping from one commercial centre to another, you may be surprised to find you have walked a considerable distance in a day before you know it.
"I want to get some rest but don't want to buy another latte..."
Don't worry! In Tokyo, there are many places where tourists sit and relax at no cost.
Today I am taking you to "KITTE Garden," a rooftop garden on the 6th floor of "KITTE," the shopping mall right next to Tokyo Station.
Feel the refreshing breeze blowing across the lawn and wooden deck. And from here, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the city of Tokyo. How about taking a ceremonial photograph with Tokyo Station in the background?
The red-brick station look nice by day but the historical building lit brightly is exceptionally beautiful - worth coming back in the evening/ night!
If you prefer to stay indoors avoiding strong heat, try their atrium on the ground/ first floor. It's an air-conditioned space with tables and chairs for visitors. The sunshine is breaking through the ceiling... very relaxing.
It's definitely a choice if you are looking for a good place for a rest near Tokyo Station.
KITTE GARDEN: open 7 days a week 11am to 11pm
